LORI COUGHLIN

Smiling woman in glasses holding a stack of books in a cozy room.

Lori Coughlin is a Texas-based teacher, writer, and theatre professional. She holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Texas Wesleyan University, an MA in Screenwriting and an MFA in Creative Writing from Wilkes University. In 2022, Lori founded Parker County Theatre Company, a nonprofit mobile community theatre that brings theatrical productions to areas of the county not otherwise served. She currently serves on the board of directors for Theatre Off The Square in Weatherford, where in 2024 her work with the community theatre earned her Volunteer of the Year by the Live Theatre League.

An avid playwright, Lori has had a handful of her work produced in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, including DIME STORE DINOS (Texas Wesleyan University Playmarket finalist, 2023), PSYCHIC SIDEKICK (Theatre Off the Square's New Works Winner, 2022), HOME ON THE RANGE: TALES AND TUNES OF THE OLD WEST (musical), as well as adaptations of Edgar Allen Poe's TELL-TALE HEART, Lewis Carroll's ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND and Edgar Lee Masters' SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY.

Her love of teaching, writing, and the arts has led Lori to share her years of experience with students at Wild Wonder Collective, a nonprofit microschool, where she currently serves as an Administrator and Theatre, Choir, Journalism, and Early Reading & Phonics Instructor.
